Covid 19 pandemic has resulted in yet another major Public Health crisis in the 21st century. Unlike previous Public Health crises, this ought to have larger impact on the economy, society, and polity globally due to high incidence and prevalence rates, mortality rates, and its widespread geographical spread and diffusion. Apart from this, mutations in the virus causing Covid 19 leading to new variants of the disease resulting in more complex challenges including the efficacy of vaccines. Many advanced economies in the world are struggling to contain the pandemic mainly due to high health care costs, low medical capacity, and the limitations in medical technology. Though academic writings from the field of social sciences during last two years have already come up with some interesting analysis in this area, this conference proposes to discuss various domains of the pandemic based on empirical evidence as well as theoretical concerns. We would like to incorporate a wide range of papers from social scientists and public health scholars including epidemiologists under the following sub themes but not restricted to the same. Apart from these topics, we would also encourage fresh investigations in this field which may not fall under any of the sub themes identified here.
