Systemic Management of Covid 19

The COVID-19 pandemic has tested the health systems of all countries and some of the supposedly “strong” health system in Europe and North America have buckled under the pressure. The current global health crisis having multidimensional implications has brought out the limitations in pandemic preparedness and health delivery systems in both highly developed economies and developing economies. Health service system plays a significant role in the containment of pandemic along with all other mechanisms of control. Papers reflecting on performance of health service system in the management of pandemic, intersectoral coordination between health service system and other sectors for effective management, assessment about health service system and challenges ahead in managing post covid complications, role of frontline workers in the management of disease, impact of health service system on other basic health care services and existing health programs while narrowing down their focus on pandemic containment strategies, development of new health structures for pandemic management etc. would be the focus of this session.
